The 37th International Symposium on Algorithms and Computation
December 6-9, 2026 · Hangzhou, China
The symposium serves as a forum for researchers in algorithms and theory of computation. We invite submissions presenting original research in these areas. Submissions in relevant applied areas also are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract or a full paper with an optional appendix. The submission should provide a scholarly exposition of ideas, techniques, and results, including motivation and a clear comparison with related work. Submissions must not be made simultaneously to another conference with refereed proceedings or to a journal. Drafts containing essentially the same results as submissions currently under review in other conferences or journals are not eligible for submission to ISAAC 2026. Workshops and conferences without formal proceedings, but possibly with handouts containing short abstracts, are exempt from this restriction. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to present the paper at the conference as a (regular) registered participant.
Submissions from non-chair Program Committee (PC) members are permitted, and will be taken carefully to avoid conflict of interest.
The following guidelines are strict. Submissions that fail to adhere to the guidelines may be rejected without consideration of their academic merits.
Authors are required to submit their papers in pdf format via EasyChair submission system.
Submitted manuscripts must be formatted in LaTeX using the LIPIcs style file, available at https://www.dagstuhl.de/en/publications/lipics/instructions-for-authors/. The maximum length of the paper is 12 pages, excluding title page, references and the optional appendix. Use the LIPIcs style file as provided; do not adjust the margin size, or change the font.
Proofs omitted due to space constraints must be placed in an appendix, which reviewers may read at their discretion.
To reduce bias in the reviewing process, ISAAC 2026 will implement double-blind reviewing. As much as possible, submissions should not reveal the identity of the authors in any way; in particular, authors’ names, affiliations, and email addresses should not appear at the beginning or in the body of the submission. However, authors are encouraged to disseminate their ideas or draft versions of their papers as they normally would, such as making early drafts available on their personal webpages or on pre-print dissemination platforms like arXiv.
When registering a submission, authors must declare conflicts of interest with PC members and provide a list of email addresses or domain-level conflicts (e.g., “Yuchen Mao (Zhejiang University),” “All (Zhejiang University)”) to address other professional or personal conflicts. These conflicts include past advisors and students, individuals affiliated with the same institution, and any recent (≈ 2 years) or frequent coauthors and collaborators. If any author of a submission is a Program Committee member, this must be explicitly indicated during the submission process by selecting the appropriate checkbox.
Violations of these guidelines may result in desk rejection, regardless of the paper's scientific merit.
Upon acceptance, if there is an omitted detail in the camera-ready version for ISAAC, authors are encouraged to upload a full version of the accepted paper to a preprint server so that interested readers can access the full proofs that are omitted in ISAAC proceedings. When authors refer to omitted proofs in ISAAC proceedings, citation to the accessible full version is desired. However, uploading a full version is not mandatory for authors.
The Best Paper and the Best Student Paper will be awarded. A paper is eligible for the Best Student Paper if all authors are students at the time of submission. To indicate that a submission is eligible, please mark the checkbox “Eligible for best student paper” when submitting the papers.
Selected papers will be nominated for publication in Algorithmica and Computational Geometry: Theory and Applications (CGTA). We will invite authors of selected papers to submit their manuscripts to the journals for journal review.
The open exchange of ideas and the freedom of thought and expression are central to the aims and goals of ISAAC. These require an environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every person and group, that fosters dignity, understanding, and mutual respect, and that embraces diversity. ISAAC is committed to providing an environment that is free of discrimination and harassment, and expects all participants to honor that commitment. If you experience or witness discrimination, harassment or other unethical behavior at the conference, we encourage you to seek advice and remedy through one or more of the following options:
